UCR’s Anderson Graduate School of Management Confers Fellowship to Area Leaders

(September 21, 2001)

Stater Bros. Markets executive Jack Brown and Riverside civic leader Nick Goldware will become the University of California at Riverside 2001-2002 Fellows of the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management.

They will be installed by Chancellor Raymond L. Orbach in a ceremony on October 2 at 4:30 p.m. at University Extension, 1200 University Avenue, Riverside. The two will serve as faculty members of the school during their year, spending a minimum of one day each quarter in classes or seminars to share their expertise.

Brown s story is a San Bernardino box boy who worked his way to-chairman of the board. He also serves as president and chief executive officer of the privately held markets, Southern California s only locally owned chain and one of the nation s largest. Its sales are in excess of $2.5 billion. He has numerous industry and civic honors.

There is a long history of dedication to Riverside in Goldware s family history. His father, David, founded Goldware Insurance, which later became Goldware & Taylor. Nick Goldware managed the firm from 1982 until its acquisition by Talbot Financial Group in 1996. He is now the Pacific region executive vice president for Talbot Insurance & Financial Services. His volunteer activities include extensive commitment to UCR.

The AGSM Fellows Program began in 1992. Its goal is to complement the regular business school faculty with professional perspectives and experiences of area business leaders.
