UCR analyst to forecast Inland economy for the rest of 2001

(April 11, 2001)

University of California, Riverside economist Michael Bazdarich, director of the UCR Forecasting Center, will update his 2001 Inland Empire Forecast at a luncheon scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 19 at the Mission Inn.

Bazdarich will look at job growth, housing, taxable sales, and what the 2000 census numbers reveal about the region. He will also discuss the ramifications of the energy crisis on the local economy. Also on the luncheon agenda is a presentation of the Management Assessment Program being developed by the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCR for public agencies in the region.

Because seating is limited, reporters, still and video photographers are asked to confirm by Friday, April 13, whether they intend to cover the event.

To RSVP and for further information, call Michael Unger at the management school at (909) 787-2758.
