RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) — UCR and the city of Riverside have joined forces again to keep the city streets clean. The third annual Incredible Bulk Event, instituted by the city of Riverside and Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful, will be accepting unwanted bulky items at UCR Parking Lot 24 Canyon Crest Drive between University and Linden Avenues on Saturday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Large items, such as furniture, refrigerators, mattresses, e-waste (computer hardware and cell phones) and much more will be accepted free of charge. Once collected, these items will be disposed of by the city.

No household hazardous waste, such as antifreeze, batteries, oil or paint will be accepted at the site. Students and residents with these items may take them to the County of Riverside's new permanent facility at 1780 Agua Mansa Road, Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
“In the past two years, this event has collected more than 25 tons of trash,” said Jeff Kraus, UCR director of community relations. “We have worked to make the event convenient for students and residents. All they have to do is simply pull up and let volunteers remove the items from their car or truck.”

Citizens and students with additional questions can call 951-827-7073 or visit www.riversideca.gov.
