U Career Night April 12 Offers Recruiting Opportunities

(March 7, 2000)

Employers interested in hiring recent and soon-to-be graduates can find a large pool of qualified potential employees at Career Night 2000, scheduled for 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the Student Recreation Center at the University of California, Riverside.

Career Night 2000, with recruitment and information booths representing business, industry and government employers, is sponsored by the career centers of California Baptist University, Riverside Community College, La Sierra University and UCR.

Participating employers will have an opportunity to interact with students and alumni to provide information about current and projected job opportunities, internships, cooperative education programs and available summer or part-time jobs.

In 1999, more than 150 organizations participated in the event, giving students a chance to circulate their resumes, network, and learn about employment opportunities.

Among the organizations expected to participate this year are American Express, ADP, AutoTrader.com, CALTRANS, Disneyland, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the FBI, Ingram Micro, John Hancock, Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Company, Marine Terminals Corporation, Maxim Healthcare Services, McDonald's, Pitney Bowes, Sherwin Williams, Southern California Gas Company, Wells Fargo Financial Acceptance, and a number of Southern California public school districts.

Employers interested in participating in Career Night 2000 can call Joseph Orzechowski in the UCR Career Services Center at (909) 787-3631.
