MARY FRANCES BERRY WILL NOT KEYNOTE WOMEN'S CONFERENCE

 Mary Frances Berry, chairperson of the United States Civil Rights Commission will not address participants at Women's Conference 2000 Saturday because of her mother's sudden illness, officials at UCR said today.
 
Adrienne Sims, director of the University of California, Riverside Women's Resource Center, conference sponsor, received word Thursday that Berry will not be in Riverside on Saturday. Sims said the conference will go on as planned, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Select, 3400 Market St., Riverside. The theme for the politically focused panel discussions, workshops, exhibits and other events, is "Forging an Extraordinary Century for Women."
 
Remaining speakers are: Anita Perez Ferguson, author of "A Passion for Politics" and "Encouraging Women in Leadership" and the immediate past president of the National Women's Political Caucus; and leaders from The California Women's Agenda, Aileen Hernandez and Marilyn Fowler.
 
Registration for Saturday workshops costs $40 per person with discounts for UCR staff, students and alumni. Information is available at the Women's Resource Center, (909) 787-3337.
