Joint Research Program to Evaluate Extremely Low-Emission Cars to be Announced

What: Officials of the University of California, Riverside and Honda will announce the details of a joint research program to evaluate the environmental impact of ultra-clean, next-generation gasoline-powered vehicles at an event scheduled for 9 a.m. Frid ay, June 9.

Members of the news media are invited to attend and cover the announcement of a five-year research program to develop the advanced technology necessary to evaluate gasoline-powered vehicles that are approaching near-zero emissions. Scientists today cannot accurately detect and measure emissions from these next-generation vehicles. More advanced instrumentation is needed to accurately assess their environmental impact.

Location: College of Engineering-Center for Environmental Research and Technology, 1200 Columbia Avenue, Riverside (located at Bourns, Inc., corner of Iowa Avenue and Columbia Avenue).

Who: Officials of the University of California, Riverside, Honda and the California Air Resources Board.

Directions: Interstate 215 to Columbia Avenue in Riverside. Exit Columbia Avenue and travel east through the Columbia/Iowa intersection. Enter the Bourns, Inc. parking area on the right-hand side of Columbia Avenue just east of Iowa Avenue.
