Joint career night April 11 offers access to potential employees

(March 6, 2001)

Employers interested in recruiting college students for career positions, summer employment or internship opportunities are invited to participate in a joint career fair between the University of California, Riverside, Riverside Community College, La Sierra University and California Baptist University.

"Career Night: Business, Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences" is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in the UCR Student Recreation Center. The fair is open to all students from the four higher education institutions in Riverside.

Representatives from approximately 100 businesses and 50 school districts are expected to participate with recruitment and information booths.

An estimated 1,300 students in a diverse range of fields will attend to circulate their resumes, network and learn about employment opportunities. Students will include those expecting to complete their degrees this spring and those who will continue their coursework beyond this spring.

Participating employers will have an opportunity to interact with students and provide information about current and projected job opportunities, internships, cooperative education programs and available summer or part-time jobs.

Employers interested in participating in Career Night can call the UCR Career Services Center at (909) 787-3631.
