RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Jan. 3, 2004) — UC Riverside’s Vice Chancellor for University Advancement William Boldt has taken a step in bolstering the university’s fund-raising office with the addition of a new administrator, Robb Drury, who will be the executive director the newly created department of Advancement Operations.

Drury held a similar position at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, which achieved its $225 million fundraising campaign goal one year ahead of schedule.

“He’s a consummate leader who made a tremendous impact at Cal Poly in helping to enhance their annual fund, gift processing, prospect research and information technology,” said Boldt, who started at UC Riverside earlier this year. “He will be a great addition to our advancement efforts.”

Advancement Operations will be dedicated to customer service, including donor relations, gift processing, information technology, prospect research and the Annual Fund, including the telemarketing and direct mail appeals for donations.
“I’ve enjoyed my experiences at UC Riverside so far and I look forward to many years of helping the campus grow in excellence and influence,” Drury said.

Drury has more than 15 years of experience in management, at two state campuses, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and San Jose State University. He has a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento and a master’s degree in Public Administration from San Jose State University.
His appointment is effective Jan. 3.
