12th Annual Noche Cultural Scheduled at UC Riverside

Mariachi, Trick Ropers and Ballet Folklorico Add Up to Family Entertainment

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) -- Chicano Student Programs of UC Riverside presents the 12th Annual Noche Cultural at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, in the University Theatre. The event is an evening of variety entertainment for the entire family. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s line up includes a performance by Mariachi Juvenil Los Jaguares del Bajio of Fontana, which is recognized as the official Mariachi of the Mexican Consulate of San Bernardino County.

The evening also includes performances representing various regions of México by Ballet Folklórico de UCR and Ballet Folklórico Tesoro de México. Both dance groups include students from the local area and perform in the community at various events. Mundo Charro Trick Ropers directed by Ramiro Rodriguez, will delight the audience with Mexican rope tricks.

Making their 12th appearance will be the local familia, Los Romeros with a family act including songs of Recuentos and their own very special renditions of romantic ballads.

Admission is $9 general / $7 students. Parking is $5 per car. Signs on campus lead to the theatre. Due to limited seating, advance ticket purchase is recommended.
