"State of Minds" program shot on campus and will include a segment on UCR graduate student

Viewers will get a televised glimpse of Olmsted Hall, the Bell Tower, the Arts Building and other UC Riverside landmarks when the latest installment of the magazine-style television program, “State of Minds” airs at 6 and 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16 on UCTV .

The crew of the 30-minute program came to UCR in early February to shoot host George Strait at various campus sites as he introduced the show’s segments, which include a UCR-produced piece about graduate student Karen Wilson, a singer-storyteller who has performed at New York’s Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Museum. Wilson is pursuing her Ph.D. of history at UCR.

This is the fifth episode of the “State of Minds,” which features Strait, an assistant vice chancellor of public affairs at UC Berkeley, as he introduces segments that feature academic and research highlights from among the ten University of California campuses.

UCTV, a 24-hour educational channel that broadcasts interviews, lectures, documentaries, and performances from the campuses and national laboratories of the University of California, is available to Inland area residents on Charter digital cable channel 95 and Dish Network satellite channel 9412.

The UCR episode of “State of Minds” will be also be shown at 7 a.m. Feb. 17; 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Feb. 20; 11 a.m., Feb. 28; 3 p.m. March 1; 7 and 10 p.m. March 2; noon, March 5 and 3 p.m. March 6 or online at www.uctv.tv.
