RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) -- As part of UC Riverside’s Gluck Fellows Program of the Arts, dancer Ting-Ting Chang will explore contemporary Chinese folk dance at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Riverside Public Library, 3581 Mission Inn Ave.

Her program, which will include a dance demonstration as well as a discussion afterward, is free and open to all ages. The event is made possible through the generosity of the Maxwell H. Gluck Foundation.

Ting-Ting Chang is pursuing her Ph.D. in dance history and theory at UC Riverside. Her research focuses on contemporary dance development in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and explores issues of Asian Diaspora. Born and raised in a family of fine arts educators in Taiwan, Chang has performed, choreographed, and taught dance around the world. She received her MFA in Dance from UC Irvine, and graduated with honors from UCLA with a BA in World Arts and Culture. She also holds a dance degree from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts.

The Gluck Fellows Program of the Arts is the premier arts outreach program at the University of California, Riverside. Since 1996, the Gluck Fellows Program of the Arts has provided fellowships to exceptional UC Riverside undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and visiting guest artists to conduct arts-related presentations, performances, and workshops in Riverside County schools, residential facilities for elderly care and community centers.
