RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) -- With the opening of the Highlander One-Stop Shop in the brand new Student Services Building, UC Riverside students can conveniently access a variety of administrative and business services all in one stop.

Opening Wednesday, Dec. 17, the new center is designed to help students cut down on time spent in long lines or wandering from office to office. "Quite often, a single issue or question will cause a student to seek assistance from several different administrative offices,” said LaRae Lundgren, assistant vice chancellor, enrollment management. “We are keenly interested in streamlining business processes for students to prevent unnecessary time and energy spent in lines and visiting numerous offices in numerous locations.”

The Highlander One-Stop Shop will feature many of the offices that students visit most frequently, including the offices of Undergraduate Recruitment, Undergraduate Admissions, the Registrar, Financial Aid, and Student Business Services. But the new set-up will aid UCR staff members as well. “The new Highlander One Stop Shop will not only make finding a solution easier for the student, it will also facilitate better collaboration among our staff members to find that solution,” said Lundgren.

The Highlander One-Stop Shop is located on the ground floor of the brand new, three-story Student Services Building, which took 21 months to construct. Other offices moving into the new building include Campus Tours, the Transfer Resource Center, the Main Cashier’s Office, Enrollment Management Systems, Student Affairs Communications, and VCSA Technology Services. The upper floors of the SSB will also contain several counseling rooms where UCR staff members can privately meet with students to discuss issues and matters of personal business.
