RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Sonja Lyubomirsky, professor of psychology at the University of California, Riverside, will be a presenter at a seminar, “The Science of a Meaningful Life: Why to Be Good, How to Be Happy,” sponsored by UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center on Thursday, Sept. 10, in Los Angeles.

Lyubomirsky, whose book “The How of Happiness” was published in December by Penguin Press, will discuss her research-based and easy-to-follow program to increase health and happiness in our daily lives. Berkeley professor Dacher Keltner will address the health and social benefits that result from practicing compassion, gratitude, kindness and other positive behaviors.

The daylong seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Center for Healthy Communities in Los Angeles. Registration is required and may be made online at www.ceuregistration.com. The seminar is approved for psychologists, social workers, therapists, counselors and nurses, who can receive six continuing education credit hours.

This event is part of the Greater Good Science Center’s “Science of a Meaningful Life” seminar series, made possible through a grant from the Quality of Life Foundation.
