New Web Site Offers Resources for UCR's Neighbors

The site is designed to keep the campus community informed about UCR.

(June 22, 2005)

As promised at a June 16th Community Meeting, UC Riverside has developed new community relations Web site to provide city residents and campus neighbors with a one-stop community informational center about programs, resources and meetings that are part of the campus' community. The site can be accessed at

“We hope that this site will serve as a forum to connect UCR with the community and provide a one-stop resource where people can go to get information about what is happening on our campus,” said Buydos, executive director of the Office of Governmental and Community Relations and Technology Collaborations. “ The university wants to be a good neighbor and citizen.”

A Quick Contact site provides community contact information about public safety, student conduct standards, parking and traffic safety, and zoning code issues. The Documents Resources page includes Good Neighbor Guidelines, UC policies relating to campus activities, organization and student, and a UCR Facts and Impacts brochure. A City Meetings page provides date, time and location for community-base meetings, and the Growth and Planning site provides information and a link to UC Riverside's Long Range Development Plan.

This site, while just launched, will be updated and enhanced to provide additional information that the community will find of value, said Buydos.

“I hope our neighbors will use this new website to keep informed about the latest development, programs and events as they relate to our campus community,” she said.
