UC Riverside Invites Students, Parents To Preview Life on Campus

High school and transfer students can learn about student life,talk with professors and explore the campus

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — — Students and their families are invited to “preview” the University of California, Riverside in Northern California on Saturday, Oct. 22 or at the UCR campus on Oct. 29, where they will get a taste of campus life. Sign up by Oct. 21 to attend the free Preview Day event, or to spend the night at one of the residence halls, go to the Preview Day Web site,, or call (951) 827-4531 to reserve space.

Preview Day helps high school and college transfer students learn about academic research opportunities, admission and financial aid information, and campus life. At the Riverside campus, scheduled 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday Oct. 29, student “ambassadors” will lead campus tours and will answers questions. Professors will also be available for discussion with students and parents.

The program at both locations will highlight UC Riverside programs and the opportunities available to help students reach their educational and career goals, whether in engineering, the sciences, arts, humanities or business. Overnight stays are available on Friday, Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 at one of the campus residence halls costs $6 per person and includes dinner.

The Northern California event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday Oct. 22 at the Westin Hotel in Santa Clara where attendees will view a DVD about campus and speak to officials.
