Students, staff, faculty, and the public are invited to show support for UCR’s men’s and women’s basketball teams as they prepare for the Big West Conference Tournament.

The event is designed to show support for UC Riverside men’s and women’s basketball teams as they prepare for the Big West Conference Tournament, which begins Wednesday March 7, 2007.
The rally will include performances by the UCR cheerleaders, the Highlander Girls and introductions of the players and coaches from each basketball team. Men’s Head Coach Vonn Webb and women’s Head Coach John Margaritis will speak and invited guests include Chancellor France A. Córdova and Big West Commissioner Dennis Farrell.
The UCR men’s team will play in the first round of the tournament at 6 p.m., Wednesday March 7. The women’s team, who clinched the school’s first-ever conference championship, has a bye until the semifinal round and will play at noon, Friday March 9. The Big West Tournament will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center.
