San Francisco Fed President Robert T. Parry Will Speak at UCR Real Estate Conference

Robert T. Parry, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, will deliver the keynote speech at the UCR's Ninth Annual Real Estate Conference, scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at the Riverside Convention Center.

Parry, who participates in the Federal Open Market Committee meetings chaired by Alan Greenspan, helps set the nation's monetary policy. He will speak about the economic and financial prospects for the nation in 1999, an address that will come on the heels of Chairman Greenspan's scheduled testimony to Congress that week.

Hosted by the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management, the conference will analyze real estate opportunities of the Inland Empire, regional Southern California and future national economic trends, to determine their impact on the region's real estate markets.

Two expert panels are scheduled during the conference that will include real estate professionals from Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The commercial real estate panel begins at 9:10 a.m.. Moderated by Doug Jacobs from Jacobs Development Company, the panel includes Mary Sullivan and Ron Washle from Grubb & Ellis; Scott Kaplan from CB Richard Ellis; and David Mudge from Lee & Associates.

The residential real estate panel begins at 10:45 a.m. Moderated by Al Gobar from Alfred Gobar, Associates, the panelists include Steve Johnson from The Meyers Group; Ira Norris from Inco Homes Corp.; James Previti from Forecast Homes; and Richard Oliphant from Affiliated Construction, Inc.

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is one of twelve regional Federal Reserve Banks across the U.S. that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, DC, serve as our nation's central bank. The San Francisco Fed serves the nine westernmost states, or roughly 20 percent of the U.S. population.
