UCR Preview Day Show Students How

The University of California, Riverside is hosting a day of presentations and workshops for prospective students and their parents from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999.

"Preview Day" begins with a continental breakfast and includes tours of the campus and the residence halls. Students can expect workshops on specific areas of academic interest, including biological sciences; biomedical sciences; business administration; the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences; the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences; and programs in computer science and engineering.

Other presentations will focus on financial assistance, freshman admission, housing options, student organizations and activities and academic majors. A session for Spanish-speaking parents also will be available.

Prospective freshmen can add to their Preview Day experience through the overnight HOST program, which allows them to stay overnight Friday, Oct. 15 or Saturday, Oct. 16 in campus housing with UCR students. Reservations are required.

UCR is located off Highway 60 in Riverside, from the Martin Luther King Blvd. exit. Parking is free in lots marked for Preview Day guests.
