The nine-week program is designed to enhance managers' skills in dealing with people, working effectively within their own and with other organizations, and understanding today's highly competitive business environment. Effective managers understand the complexity of today's business world and are willing to use new ideas and processes in their organizations, according to Monica Vollucci, assistant director for executive education.
The 35-hour certificate program has been popular with managers in the Riverside program for 13 years. The growing need in the Coachella Valley for advanced management training has prompted UCR management school officials to begin offering classes in Palm Springs on April 24.
Times and locations are not yet available. Cost for the program is $2,400, which includes tuition, materials, a welcome reception, and a graduation dinner.
The University of California, Riverside (www.ucr.edu) is a doctoral research university, a living laboratory for groundbreaking exploration of issues critical to Inland Southern California, the state and communities around the world. Reflecting California's diverse culture, UCR's enrollment has exceeded 21,000 students. The campus opened a medical school in 2013 and has reached the heart of the Coachella Valley by way of the UCR Palm Desert Center. The campus has an annual statewide economic impact of more than $1 billion.
A broadcast studio with fiber cable to the AT&T Hollywood hub is available for live or taped interviews. UCR also has ISDN for radio interviews. To learn more, call (951) UCR-NEWS.
