UC Riverside MBA Student Receives Management Award

Leslie Huang Recognized for Improving Management Practices

RIVERSIDE, Calif. ( Leslie (Xianlian) Huang, a second-year MBA student at the University of California, Riverside, has received the 2004 George W. DuBois Memorial Award in management from the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management.

The Lee and Rose Warner Foundation supports the $1,000 award in honor of George W. DuBois, the first manager at the Space Center at Mira Loma — the more-than 300-acre industrial park in Riverside.

The award recognizes students with the ability to identify problems of management and to offer definite, unique solutions or courses of action, together with a record of high academic achievement and excellence in writing a management paper.

Huang has earned a 3.96 overall grade point average and is scheduled to complete her MBA in June. Her paper submitted for the award is titled A Case Analysis for Precision Technology INC and demonstrates her ability to apply theoretical concepts and ideas to concrete managerial problems, according to AGSM officials.

She received her undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University, China. Huang also received an MS degree in management engineering at the University of Electrical Science and Technology, China.

She is currently working at The Bank of Hemet as an accounting officer in the finance department. Upon graduation, Huang hopes to enter the field of finance or accounting as a financial analyst.
