RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) — Wine and food are the draw at the Seventh Annual Primavera in the Gardens, Riverside’s premiere wine and food tasting event, 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at the UC Riverside Botanic Gardens. The event is a fund-raiser for the Botanic Gardens.

Musical performers provide live accompaniment, as hundreds of people walk the trails to sample food and wine at serving tables positioned throughout the garden. In past years, the event has offered wines from Benzinger Family Winery, Callaway Vineyard and Winery, Filsinger Vineyards and Winery, Galleano Winery, Hart Winery, Joseph Filippi Winery and Vineyards, Maurice Car'rie Vineyard and Winery, Mount Palomar Winery, Stuart Cellars, Thornton Winery and Van Roekel Vineyards and Winery as well as beer from Riverside Brewery.

Restaurants that regularly participate include Mario’s, Sevilla, Simple Simon’s and many others.

The donation for this annual event is $40 per person, with proceeds benefiting the Botanic Gardens’ many projects. This has become a major fund-raiser for the Friends of the UCR Botanic Gardens and it helps to keep the gardens maintained and open to the public.

Tickets are available at the gate. Make checks payable to UCR Foundation and send to Primavera, Botanic Gardens, University of California, Riverside, CA 92521.
