DuBois Award Winner Announced


UCR M.B.A. Student Wins Management Award

Jun Wang receives the George W. Dubois Memorial Award demonstrating innovative problem solving in management and high-quality scholarship.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) — Jun Wang, a recent graduate of the M.B.A. Program at the University of California, Riverside, received the 2007 George W. DuBois Memorial Award in management from The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management.

The criteria for the award are the ability to identify problems of management and to offer definite unique solutions or courses of action, together with high academic achievement and excellence in writing a management paper. His paper submitted for the award competition is entitled Borders Group and demonstrates his ability to apply theoretical concepts and ideas to concrete managerial problems.

The $800 award is made possible by The Lee and Rose Warner Foundation in honor of George W. DuBois, the first manager of Space Center Mira Loma.

Wang will complete his M.B.A. in August 2007 and has earned a 3.82 overall grade point average. He completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the Florida Institute of Technology.

Upon graduation, Wang intends to pursue a career in e-commerce marketing management and strategic consulting related to the online gaming software industry. Long-term plans include establishing his own consulting business by utilizing his progressive and diversified background in business and information technology.
