UCR Palm Desert Library Offers Research Services

New division aims to encourge economic development and entrepreneurship in the Coachella Valley.

PALM DESERT, Calif. — The UCR Palm Desert Graduate Center library is offering professional research services to business and community members through a division called Palm Desert Research Services.

Senior librarian Shirley Bigna said the new service is aimed at providing a cost-effective research and information center to encourage economic development and entrepreneurship in the Coachella Valley.

Confidentiality of requests and work performed for clients is assured, Bigna said. Pricing is on a cost-recovery basis and each research project is customized to client needs.

UCR Palm Desert librarians have access to more than 500 commercial databases containing the most current and comprehensive information available. All information retrieved and presented to clients will comply with copyright laws.

Examples of research products include:

• Economic Information - Economic indicators, statistics, forecasts, news, market research and market share.

• Industry/Market Data - Industry profiles, buying power, statistics, demographics, industry rankings, market share and patent searching.

• Company Information - News, financials, equity, product information, balance sheets and ratios.

The UCR Palm Desert Graduate Center at 75-080 Frank Sinatra Drive is at the heart of the Coachella Valley. As a graduate center of UC Riverside, UCR Palm Desert offers graduate degrees in business administration with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and a master of fine arts with an emphasis on creative writing and writing for performance.
