UC Riverside Hosts On Campus Preview Day For Interested Students and their Parents

Tours and Valuable Information Available at UC Riverside

(September 27, 2002)

Prospective students of The University of California, Riverside will take campus tours and some will be staying overnight for “Preview Day,” Saturday, Oct. 5.

This is the day when high school students and college transfer students can explore whether they want the life of the residence hall, or an apartment off campus; whether they want to “go Greek” or live in Washington D.C. for a quarter; whether they want to study Anthropology or Women’s Studies (with about 76 other choices in the list.) A website detailing the opportunities available, and a chance to reserve a space online, is at www.preview.ucr.edu

Workshops between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. will reveal details about UC Riverside’s academic programs, financial assistance, freshman and transfer admission process, housing options, student organizations and activities. Tours of the campus will be led by current students, the UCR Ambassadors, who have learned their way around and are ready to share their knowledge about secret routes from the Science Library to the residence halls, or the lore of the steam tunnels running underneath campus.

Participants ready for the full immersion program have reserved an overnight stay in the residence halls with UCR students on either Friday, Oct. 4 or Saturday, Oct. 5. Reservations are already full for overnight participation.

For more information check out the Preview Day web site or call the Office of Relations with Schools at (909) 787-4531.

UCR is located off the 60/215 freeway in Riverside, at the University Avenue exit. Parking is free in lots marked for Preview Day guests.
