Family Play, en Español, Comes to Riverside

(December 1, 1999)

"El Nietecito," a Spanish language play presented by UCR's Theater Society director, Esperanza Garcia-Arce, and her ensemble of actors, singers and musicians, will be staged this month at two Riverside locations. This family-oriented show includes variety acts and comedy. In addition, Christmas delicacies such as traditional tamales will be sold at performances to raise money for future events.

8 p.m. Dec. 2, 3 and 4 at Watkins 1000 on the campus of the University of California, Riverside. Two student groups sponsor the performance: the Asociación Latina de Musicós y Artistas (ALMA) and Organización Estudiantil Universitaria de Español (OEUE). While the show is free, parking on campus costs $3.

8 p.m. Dec. 17 and 18 at the Cesar Chavez Community Center, 2060 University Ave. The performances are sponsored by the Inland Empire Concilio de la Raza, University of California Institute for Mexico and the United States (UC MEXUS), the city of Riverside Parks and Recreation Department and UCR's student groups, ALMA and OEUE.
