UC Riverside Hosts Preview Day for Interested Students and Their Parents

(September 29, 2003)

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2003) — Prospective students who want to learn more about UC Riverside and meet professors, students, and staff should attend Preview Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.

Each fall, high school students and college transfer students can hear about opportunities to engage in a research or creative project under the guidance of a professor and to pursue a degree in majors such as business administration or environmental engineering, or any of the 78 undergraduate majors and 45 minors the campus offers. A website detailing the day’s activities and an online reservation form is at www.preview.ucr.edu.

Workshops will detail UC Riverside’s many academic programs, freshman and transfer admission requirements, housing options, financial assistance, student organizations and activities. Tours of the campus will be led the UCR Ambassadors, current students who have learned their way around.

Participants ready for the full UC Riverside experience can reserve an overnight stay in the residence halls with UCR students on either Friday, Oct. 3 or Saturday, Oct. 4. Reservations are required for overnight participation. To make the required reservations, check out the Preview Day Web site at www.preview.ucr.edu, or contact the Office of Relations with Schools at (909) 787-4531.

UC Riverside is located off Highway 60 in Riverside, at the University Avenue exit. Parking is free in lots marked for Preview Day guests.
