Approximately 1,000 students were evacuated from the Hall as a precaution, although there was no damage to their living quarters, which were expected to reopen by early Monday morning, and no reports of injuries. Meal services for residents of Lothian Hall will shift to the University Commons and other residence halls. Questions concerning meal services can be addressed to the UCR Housing Office at 909-787-6350.
The cause of the fire is unknown. An investigation into the three-alarm blaze to which 15 fire units responded will involve City, state and campus fire investigators.
