They will accept applications from potential sports anchors from 7 to 9 p.m. and they will broadcast their sports segment live from 11 to 11:30 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center in front of a crowd of enthusiastic fans. The event is open to the public. Applications are available at Univision.com, (see link at the bottom of this release.)
Univision will do similar events in four other locations in Southern California. They are looking for a sports anchor who is a fluent Spanish speaker with vast experience in sports journalism. Call-backs will be held later at the station’s Los Angeles studios.
“We are looking forward to starting our search at UC Riverside, an excellent school with a diverse student body,” said Francisco G. Mendoza, Special Projects Producer for Univision 34 * Los Angeles. “We like the fact that the community takes pride in UCR, and we want to invite student groups, artists, dancers, athletes and anyone else to come out and help us show the audience what UCR has going on.”
Parking is available in Lot 24, in visitors’ spaces, and signs will guide pedestrians to the front entrance of the Student Recreation Center gymnasium.
