Electronic business strategy focus of UCR conference

Business professionals and University of California, Riverside faculty will speak about surviving and succeeding in the rapidly changing e-business environment at a conference scheduled for Wednesday, April 25.

"Managing in the Information Economy: Strategic Solutions for Business Success," is scheduled from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ontario Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Way. The conference will stress improving strategic business skills in the electronic economy regardless of the type and size of the industry.

Keynote speakers include industry leaders Marc Benioff, founder and chairman of the board of application service provider firm Salesforce.com, who will discuss "The End of Software" and George Anders, senior editor at the Internet publication Fast Company, whose talk is titled "Untangling the Web." UCR Management Information Systems Professor Erik Rolland will speak on "Back to Basics: E-Business Strategy in a New Light!" Also speaking will be Sunil Everelles, a UCR professor of marketing, on "Intellectual Capital…The Future of Technology."

The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCR and UCR Extension are organizing the event. Sponsors include The Business Press and The Press-Enterprise.
