RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) -- UC Riverside was ranked 44th on a list called “Great Schools, Great Price,” in the U.S. News and World Report ratings, released this week.

The list factors in the affordability of the campus for its students, as well as its quality. UC Riverside offers more need-based financial aid than many other universities. UC San Diego and UC Irvine were also on that list.

Overall, the annual rankings puts UC Riverside at 94th among the 262 national universities in the country (164 public, 98 private), based on categories developed by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The campus was tied for 4th in the nation when it comes to diversity.

When it comes to public universities, UCR is ranked at #41 in the nation.

U.S. News and World Report also ranks graduate schools. UCR’s Graduate School of Education ranked 56th overall; UCR’s Bourns College of Engineering ranked 66th overall.

Among rankings in undergraduate programs, the School of Business Administration is tied for 67th, the engineering school is tied for 94th.

“We can all be proud of the progress we have made as a school,” said David Stewart, who is dean of the School of Business Administration, which includes the Anderson Graduate School of Management. “The reorganization of our undergraduate program in business and its new identity is beginning to pay dividends. We want to do better and we can do better, but we are making progress.”
