RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) – The University of California, Riverside School of Business Administration is among the top 300 business schools in the nation and one of the best in the west, according to the new 2011 edition of The Princeton Review’s “The Best 300 Business Schools.”

“There are about 1,400 business school programs in the country,” said David Stewart, dean of the UC Riverside School of Business Administration. “To be among the top 300 and one of the best in west is an honor.”

The Princeton Review compiled the rankings based on an 80-question survey filled out by 19,000 students attending the 300 business schools profiled in the book.

Those students praised the UC Riverside School of Business Administration for challenging classes, very accessible professors, encouraging participative learning and offering a wide diversity of electives.

The Princeton Review survey found that School of Business Administration students strongly agreed the school has friendly students, a good social scene and smart classrooms. The survey also noted the school offers solid preparation in finance, accounting and general management.

The 300 schools were selected based on their academic programs and offerings, institutional data from the schools collected by Princeton Review and opinions of students attending the schools, said Robert Franek, senior vice president-publishing at The Princeton Review.

The Princeton Review also listed the School of Business Administration as one of 55 colleges and universities in the “Best of the West” category, which includes schools from 11 states.
